Raps/76ers: Third Quarter Analysis

The team has started the 3rd quarter the same way they started the game ... cold. (Missed their first three shots) Dalembert continues to dominate on the glass. Canada really could have used a guy like that this summer but hey I'm sure no one is holding a grudge.

I'm a big fan of both Rautins and Devlin (Both excellent guests on The Grill Room) they do a superb job of notting rooting for Toronto and provide genuine analysis. You can learn a lot listening to them. Except when it comes to Andrea Bargnani. I understand everyone is hoping Bargnani can turn it around and needs to be surrounded in a positive environment, but the guy is giving this team nothing. I just heard Leo say he is "showing signs of life". Really? He manages to tip a couple balls and that's showing some life?

6:36 left in the third ... Bargnani just missed an easy shot. He was seven feet from the basket, in excellent position to drive and score. Well he tried to drive but could not finish.

6:15 Philly has whittled the Raps lead to one when Bosh gets a huge offensive rebound and is fouled by Elton Brand. Bosh makes both free throws. Great play by Bosh to stop the bleeding. Best player on the floor by a long shot.

5:46 Oh God I just heard that Jermaine O'Neal is back in the locker getting his hamstring stretched out. I had him out with an injury in mid November, oh well. At least I know why Bargnani is on the floor. Oh wait O'Neal is back, take a seat Andrea, make sure it's a comfy one.

5:20 O'Neal hits a turn around jumper to give the Raptors a six point lead. I'll be honest he's playing better than what I expected from him. By the way have you seen his first half dunk yet?

Horrible foul by Roko with two seconds left on Lou Williams. Dumb play. Lou hits all three free throws and the lead is cut to 74-65 at the end of three.

Ugly Raptor Stat: Toronto has been out rebounded 43 to 28.
Good Raptor Stat: The team has seven more assists and eight fewer turnovers then Philly. Jose Calderon and Roko are doing an excellent intiaiting the offense and keeping the team in a steady offensive flow.
