In your GrillBackAug 31, 200712 last minute thoughts / tips for your draft
A buddy in the sports media business is having his draft this weekend and asked me for any of my thoughts. So I decided to kill two birds with one stone, use my excellent cut and paste skills and post my reply. I hope they can help.
(1) Bigger fan of Edgerrin James than many ... coaching staff is committed to running the ball + they drafted an o-lineman in the first round. (2) On the flip side I don’t think Boldin will have the same kind of numbers. Fitzergerald is healthy and they won’t pass as much. (3) I love as a sleeper WR DJ Hackett ... now the #2 guy in Seattle. They usually produce in Holmgren's West Coast offence. (4) I have Randy Moss knocked way down on my draft board. Too many wide outs, too many injuries. (5) Same goes for Vince Young ... their entire offence stinks. (6) I was higher on Brandon Jacobs earlier but the O-Line is still not that good and the defence for New York is horrible! They will be down in games early and often. (7) On the flip side of that I would bump up Eli. He has a ton of weapons, has looked good in the pre-season and he will have to pass a lot. (of course for a TD only league that is not as important) (8) Chad Johnson could put up even bigger numbers without Kelly Washington and Chris Henry (out for the first 8 games) around. (9) I love Drew Brees but I see his numbers coming back to earth a bit. (10) Big bounce back year for Ben Roethlisberger. He has a ton of targets and was cursed all of last year. I really like him ... same goes for Santonio Holmes. (11) I saw JP Losman in training camp on Monday ... he didn’t look so good … take that for what you want. (12) I think Joseph Addai will end up having a better year than Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander and Frank Gore. Comments:You want to respond to this article?
